Mike Martin, Director of Sports Performance for both SVU and Advantage Physical Therapy and Sports Performance, will be offering a 6 week sports performance camp this summer. The camp is designed specifically for soccer players and will focus on the speed, agility, and aerobic/anaerobic conditioning needed to improve performance on the soccer field in preparation for the upcoming fall season.
Logistics/cost:
- Camp runs from June 20-July 29 (SVU travel pre-season begins Aug 1)
- Training will be 3x a week on Mon, Wed, Fri
- Training sessions are 1 hr 15 min each
- Total cost per athlete is $150
- Registration deadline is Friday June 10th.
- Training will take place at a location to be determined based on total number of participants.
- Training times will occur based on group preference and available time slots (8:00 AM-7:00 PM)
Training:
- Athletes will be broken into small training groups of either full SVU teams or approximately 10 individuals
- Each training group will attempt to consist of athletes of same age and gender
- This will allow the training to be as specific as possible and to meet the needs of each small group
- Training will be designed to improve strength, flexibility, speed, agility, core strength, and aerobic/anaerobic conditioning will be incorporated into each session.
