Thank you to WalMart Distribution Center for donating recycle bins to place at Smithland Field. Big Blue Bins are placed strategically at the field. Please remember to place any recyclables (mostly plastic bottles) in these containers.
Thank you also to the recycling committee for volunteering to handle the recycling task at Smithland Field. If you can provide any assistance to them throughout the year, please contact them at the email address listed below. This could be a great community service project for individuals or groups!
Just a few notes. . .
- The bins fill up very fast! I emptied them Sunday afternoon while the league was playing, and two of them were full to the brim by Monday evening. Assigned week may require 2 runs.
- Dave's Recycling takes all #1 and #2 plasic bottles, and they pay for aluminum (70 cents a pound). Yes, we need to seperate the bottles! #1 plastic is usually the clear ones (almost all bottles are #1); #2 plastic is like Sunny D bottles and milk containers.
