Soccer Fest 2011 
Saturday, June 4th, 10:00am - 3:00pm, Smithland Field
The day will be packed with well over 120 games, inflatables, family potluck and other fun activities exclusively for SVU's recreation families. Plan for a fun day at the field!

Basic Game Guidelines

Over 120 games are scheduled throughout the day – the game schedule is posted below on this same Soccer Fest tab. All games will run on the ½ hour with 25 minute games and no half-time. All teams will play 2-3 games. The schedule is tight and only allows for a 5 minute field switch time so teams must hit the field ready to play. Teams should warm up and stretch off to the side prior to their game time.

 

Family Potluck
Each family per designated team/division will be asked to contribute to the Soccer Fest picnic. (See list below for your age division assigned item.) A group picnic will be held under the field 1 pavillion with hydration stations across the fields. If you have picnic items that need to be kept cool, please plan to bring a cooler as well. Put your names on any items (dishes, tables, tents, coolers, etc. brought to the field.)

 

U5 Coed - Desserts

U6 Coed - Fruit (trays/ salads)

U7 Coed - Chips

U8 & U10 Coed - Sports Drinks, 1 case

U10 Girls - Pasta/ Potato Salads

U13 Coed & Girls - Veggies (trays/ salads)

U17 Coed - Desserts

 

Volunteers

Volunteers are needed to help with set-up, food service, and clean-up to make this event possible. Anyone willing to give some time, please contact us at ShenandoahValleyUnited@gmail.com, SUBJECT: Soccer Fest.

 

 

Jump Zones

We need donations to make this exciting part of Soccer Fest a possibility this year. Teams, families and local businesses are all asked to consider a donation. Just $2 per player would get us to our goal! Just like in the past, we need to raise the funds to cover the $1275 cost of the Inflatables from K&T Inflatables.

Coaches/Assistant Coaches/Team Parents - Please communicate with your team about the Inflatables and collect any donations that your team can give. Please put all donations in an envelope with your name and Team name.  You may turn in donations to Nancy Wayland or leave them at the Snack Shack. All checks should be made payable to SVU.

 

Parents - Please give your donation to your Coach/Asst Coach or Team Parent.  If you know of a business that will donate, please email Nancy Wayland and she can go pick up the check at the business location.  All checks should be made payable to SVU.

 

Splash Bucket

Some of SVU's favorite coaches will be sitting in our dunk tank throughout the day – don’t miss the chance to dunk your coach!  $1/ throw.  All proceeds will go to the SVU scholarship fund that helps players who could not otherwise afford to play soccer.

2010-11 SVU Patches
Every Recreation player will receive a patch to commemorate their soccer season(s). The patch will match with the event logo which can also be found on event t-shirts as well as the patch. Coaches should pick up their team patched at the snack shack during Soccer Fest. 

 

Special Soccer Fest Tees
T-shirts with the event logo on the front and player names on the back will be available ON-SITE by The Mad Hatter.  20% of all proceeds will go to support the costs of Soccer Fest.

 

Team Sites

It will be a hot day and canopies will be needed to provide shade for your team. Team sites can be set up on Friday, 3:00-6:00pm or anytime Saturday. Decorate it and your team may win a prize! Canopies can be set up on the perimeter of the fields but must not impair spectators coming and going to the games.

 

Parking

Expect an overflow of parking as it will be EXTREMELY tight; however, we are working to make accommodations for this.  If you can assist with a shuttle/ alternate parking location, please contact JM Snell, Recreational League VP.
