Uniforms
All Refs are required to have a yellow ref shirt, black shorts, black socks, black cleats. In addition, all Center Refs are required to have cards, whistle, coins, watch and an alternate shirt. If you are in need of anything for your reffing uniform, please notify the SVU Ref Coordinator.,

Referee Shirts will be offered and available for those attending certification classes at a reduced cost through SVU and Upper 90. If you are new to SVU, you may purchase a short-sleeved referee shirt for $15.00. If you are part of SVU, you may purchase a shirt for $20.00 (still reduced). Please e-mail the SVU Ref Coordinator  if you would like to order a shirt(s), with your size(s) and preferred color(s). (These will be the new style; payment can be sent to the Ref Coordinator (see right side). ALL ORDERS DUE two weeks prior to certification classes.
  

Referee Classes

These are the classes offered throughout the year:

  • USSF Entry Level - Grade 8 (16 hours over 3 days)
  • USSF Recertification (5.5 hours)
  • Assistant Referee (Linesman) - Age 12 (4 hours)
  • Assistant Recertification (3 hours)

Certification Soccer Referee Class (USSF Grade 8)

17 hours:  Friday, March 12, 2010 -- 6 – 9:00 p.m
    Saturday, March 13, 2010 -- 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
    Sunday, March 14, 2010 -- 11:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Location: Thomas Harrison Middle School, Room 303 

Requirements: Must 14 years old or worked as an AR for SVU for 2 years.

Cost: $65 paid at time of registration or on class date. (Find out how you can be reimbursed for some of this!)

 

Recertification Soccer Referee Class (USSF Grade 8)

6.5 hours:  Date To Be Announced

Requirements: Must have been certified within the past 2 years and comply with age requirements.

Cost:  $65 paid at time of registration or on class date. (Find out how you can be reimbursed for some of this!)

To attend Referee classes (certification or recertification) you must register at www.vadcsoccerref.com.  It is not necessary to register for Assistant Referee Classes - AR classes only require completed form sent to SVU Refereee Coordinator.

 

Assistant Referee and Recertification Assistant Referee Class

4 hours:  Date to Be Announced
Requirements: Must be 14 by April 1, 2010

Cost:  $10 paid at time of registration or on class date.

 

Notes about ALL Soccer Referee Classes (please read):  After you have registered for a class you must e-mail the Soccer Ref Coordinator to confirm your attendance. This way checks and balances are in place and plans can be made accordingly. When you email, please include your name, phone number, which class you have signed up for how you plan to pay.

Referee Certification Courses
Grade 8 Certification :- Sunday September 26th/Oct October 3rd; 9-5pm; Lucy Simms Centre
Grade 8 Re-Certification :- Saturday September 18th; 9-12noon; Harrisonburg Parks and Recreation Centre/WestOver Community Activity Centre
 
Travel Programs
The payment for all referees is $40 for centre, $20 for AR's. 
 
Academy
Saturday September 18th; 1-7pm @ Smithland Fields
The festival will have 20 games being played; 4 at a time; in 5 times blocks. Each games requires only 1 centre referee.

Second Festival is Sunday October 24th: 1-7 @ Monger park
 
The payment for these referees is $25 per game
 
Recreation
Our recreation program will have games starting September the 11th through to November 6th. Games are played between 8am-2pm. Age groups that need referee's are:
U10 Co-ed and Girls :- 1 Centre Referee $24 per game
U13 Co-ed and Girls :- 1 Centre Referee $32 and AR's $16 per game.
U17 Co-ed :- 1 Centre Referee $32 and AR's $16 per game.
