Hello SVU Families!

In this page you will be able to see what is currently happening, what programs/clinics are available for registration, and any important news/events etc.

We are happy to welcome Shawn Parker to the SVU Team as our Soccer Manager! Shawn will be overseeing all soccer leagues, clinics, and SVU programming at Horizons Edge Sports Campus. Look out for Shawn radiating his positive energy next time you’re out on the field and say hello!

Number of Years Coaching: 7 years experience
Certifications: National C License (US Soccer), National D License (US Soccer), GK Level 1 Diploma NSCAA National Diploma, NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, NSCAA National Diploma, National Youth License (USYS)
Coaching Experience: Youth Director of Coaching (2015-2017). High school Director of coaching (2017-2019). Ranging from development of programs to Highschool teams, and Coerver skill camps.
Playing Experience: Played four years at Northern Kentucky University, 2010 NCAA Division II National Champion. 2017 Athletics Hall of Fame Northern Kentucky University.
Graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a degree in Sociology and Ohio University with a Masters degree in Sports & recreational Sciences.

Available Program Registrations

Recreational Program The Recreation program season consists of one (1) 60-minute practice session during the week and one (1) game on Saturday over eight (8) weeks. Practices are held in the city and each of the high school district areas of the county. Players can choose to be on a team in any school district as it does not need to be the same area of residence. Practices begin in late March, and games start early to mid-April with Easter weekend off. Games will continue up until late May with Memorial Day weekend off; The season ends the first weekend of June with Soccer Fest. For More information visit our REC summary page
Spring 2021 Challenge Program Challenge: Advanced Development Program’s (CADP) primary objective is to provide U7-U10 players a competitive and fun learning environment that encourages individual development, creativity, and understanding of the game. This program is Shenandoah Valley United’s bridge between recreation and travel soccer. Through this program, our players will compete via intra squad scrimmages and other club teams with similar motivation to improve their game. Ready to take the next level? Spring 2021 Mini Kickers Youth Clinics The SVU Mini Kickers is an “Active Start” to Soccer introducing Basic Physical, Technical, Social and Psychological objectives. This program will pursue these objectives thru curriculum-based stage-appropriate activities/games.
