SVU endeavors to provide a professional, safe and respectful learning environment where players are empowered and encouraged to “Strive for Excellence”. Our commitment to upholding this philosophy will be conveyed through the following core principles:

 

1.       All SVU Player Development programs and initiatives will be PLAYER DEVELOPMENT CENTERED, coach driven and Club / parent supported.

2.       All players will be given the opportunity to practice and play at a level that best suits their age, abilities and experience.

3.       All players will play in a safe, supportive, positive and fear-free environment that puts the needs and the best interests of player as the first priority.

4.       All SVU coaches, teams and programs will place emphasis on player and team development over winning and results.

5.       All players will participate in an environment that teaches, promotes and demands important life skills that include, but are not limited to: self-respect, respect for others, tolerance, commitment, self-control and communication.

 

All four of the components below are integrated with the four keys focal points in soccer. Developing these components in the training sessions will be essential to create an appropriate environment in order to develop the best soccer players.
